I came to Sandy in my mid-forties. I had been in therapy on and off before. Sandy "got me." She is kind and compassionate, but make no mistake -- she will challenge you to be the best you can be and not shy away from tackling tough issues. She helped me break out of a cycle of feeling sorry for myself and not expecting much out of life -- to believing I was a worthy person and entitled to be happy. And happy I am. She helped me change my life. -- J.W.
For those who are bothered by Tinnitus and need help dealing with its negative effects, Sandy can offer great help. She helped guide me to the positive aspects of my life and taught me a number of methods to ease the depression and anxiety that come along with Tinnitus. Sandy cares about her patients and is an island of calm in a world of turmoil. For those suffering with Tinnitus and its negative effects on their lives, I highly recommend Sandy. -- F.C.
I went to Sandy when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It turned out to be one of the best things I did for myself during that harrowing time. Meeting with her was like giving myself a lifeline every week. I needed a lot of help dealing with my fears, disappointments, and how to get through the treatment but also, how to reevaluate and make life decisions after too. It turns out that Cancer affects your mental state and it can bring you to question everything in your life, in addition to affecting you physically.
Sandy helped me vent, find positive coping skills and manage through the most frightening days. She also helped me make good decisions about the future after treatment, too, as I started my re-entry plan back into "normal" life. Another thing I really liked about working with Sandy is that in addition to her care and skill for helping me just cope, she offered a lot of clarity and would sometimes tell me what she thinks. I really liked that and felt like I could be totally honest and have a very insightful dialogue with her. -- A.L.
